S. Orange – Maplewood Appoints Three New School Administrators

The South Orange – Maplewood School District appointed three new administrators at its meeting on Monday night.

The three are:

Interim Math Supervisor

Mr. Emmanuel Arguelles was appointed to serve as the interim supervisor of math grades 9-12, replacing Dr. Candice Beattys who is retiring. Mr. Arguelles received his BS in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University and a MS in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University. He has served as an exemplar Math teacher at Columbia High School since 2003 and has led the school through external program audits in both CAPA and Middle States.

Superintendent Dr. John Ramos explained that Arguelles was appointed as an interim while the district figures out potential changes to the math program.

Interim South Mountain Principal

Ms. Audrey Wallock was appointed to serve as an interim principal at South Mountain Elementary School. Ms. Wallock holds a MA in Administration & Supervision and a MA in Guidance & Counseling, both from Montclair State University. She also holds a BA from the College of New Jersey. She retired three years ago after having served for seven years as elementary principal in the Succasunna Public School District.

Assistant Principal Clinton School

Mr. Timothy Beaumont was appointed as Clinton Elementary School Assistant Principal. He replaces Ann Bodnar who was promoted to principal. Mr. Beaumont holds a MA in Educational Leadership from Montclair State University. Mr. Beaumont has served as a 4th and 5th Grade English Language Arts Teacher in SOMSD since 2010, as an Instructional Leader in English Language Arts in SOMSD since September 2013, and as a middle and high school history teacher in the UK. Prior to beginning his work in Education, Mr. Beaumont trained and practiced as an Attorney in London, UK.
