It was hard to tell who was having more fun when Rabbi Daniel Cohen and Early Childhood Center Director Carol Paster, from Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel (TSTI) in South Orange, entertained more than 30 area children during the recent annual PJ Library Popsicles in the Park summer series.

The series is sponsored by The Partnership for Jewish Learning and Life; the program was held in Grove Park in South Orange. As the rabbi read a story aloud, Paster acted it out, which entertained young children and adults alike as part of the day’s activities.

The Reform synagogue is a PJ Library supporter and stocks its books on its classroom shelves, and encourages its member families with young children to subscribe to the free program (https://www.pjlibrary.org), which sends age-appropriate Jewish books to families of children ages 6 months to 5-1/2 years old. Paster incorporates many experiential learning activities such as this into TSTI’s early childhood education program.
