“It’s going to take some innovative thinking and courage on the district’s end,” said CHS parent and event production company operator Matt Glass.

Columbia High School junior brings home Bronze and Pewter medals from national competition.

“I had hoped the Columbia High School principal’s leave would have ended by the end of this month, but this is not the case,” said Acting Supt. Dr. Gilbert on Feb. 29. Gilbert voiced his “gratitude and support” for Acting CHS Principal Ann Bodnar.

After confusion and fear surrounding Code Yellows at CHS, Acting Supt. vows stricter enforcement of student IDs, limited entrances, door alarms and technology upgrades.

Meanwhile, Maplewood police report: “Officers were able to locate students from another area high school a few blocks away. The students’ parents and schools were contacted and the juveniles were ultimately turned over to family members.”

A second Code Yellow was called in the afternoon: “The police again swept the building and determined it was safe to dismiss students. The police remained on campus through the afternoon as students were dismissed. At no time were any weapons found.”
