Make a plan and stick to it. Tuesday, November 4th vote. Your right to decide not to be disenfranchised. Your right to select our leaders.
The radio station WNYC is conducting a campaign, not for a party, but to identify and reach out to voters who haven’t voted since 2010 in one New York neighborhood. They are attempting to influence them through campaign techniques to make sure they come out and vote on November 4th. One of the tips they received from the campaign managers they interviewed was that if you can get a registered voter to have a plan to vote, that person is more likely to follow through.
So what’s your plan for November 4th?
Do you know where your polling place is? Are you going in the morning or the afternoon? How are you getting there?
Here’s some help: if you don’t know where your polling place is located visit The Polling Place Locater, https://voter.njsvrs.com/elections/polling-lookup.html, if you don’t know what the ballot questions are (yes, there are two) visit https://www.lwvnj.org/voting.html, if you don’t know about the Board of Education candidates or the Maplewood Township Committee candidates, visit SOMATelevision on YouTube in the Upload section to watch the forums sponsored by the League and their community partners. (Editor’s note: you can also visit The Village Green Election tab; read BOE candidates’ profiles for Elizabeth Baker, Maureen Jones, Godwin Molokwu and Donna Smith; and read Township Committee candidates’ profiles).
Become informed, make a plan and we’ll see you at your polling place on November 4th.
