Maplewood residents can do some fall cleaning and drop off their bulk household refuse on Saturday, September 13, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Maplewood Recycling Center, 359 Boyden Avenue.
The program is intended for the disposal of household bulk refuse including refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, and furniture.
Household bulk refuse drop off is subject to the following conditions:
1. No building material of any type can be dropped off at any time. Building material is defined as concrete, sheetrock, plaster, dirt, wood, shingles, roofing material, siding, doors, kitchen cabinets, decking windows, storm windows, or any related material due to the remodeling or alteration process. There will be no dropping off at any time of car parts, paint or paint cans, trees, branches, tree stumps or firewood.
2. Two forms of proof of Maplewood residency must be provided each time.
If you can’t make it to Public Works to drop off your bulk, here’s how to obtain bulk PICK UP:
If you are a WASTE MANAGEMENT CUSTOMER You can get up to 4 items picked up curbside on the last Wednesday of each month. You must make an appointment by calling 1-800-633-9096. This program will replace the fall pick up program.
If you are a WASTE INDUSTRIES CUSTOMER – You can up to 4 items picked up curbside on the last day of the month. You must make an appointment at 973-761-0009. This program will replace the fall pick up program. If the last day of the month falls on a Sunday it will be picked up
on the Saturday.
