From the Green Brook Country Club Book Club:

International best-selling author Tess Gerritsen will be discussing and signing her medical thriller novel Playing With Fire at Green Brook Country Club’s book club meeting on June 30. Non-members are welcome to attend.

The event was spearheaded by Green Brook member and South Orange resident Elaine Sterling, who has previously helped organize book club events with New York Times best-selling authors.

Gerritsen took an unusual route to a writing career. A graduate of Stanford University, she went on to medical school at the University of California, San Francisco, where she was awarded her M.D. She composed the music for the theme of “Playing with Fire” and readers of this event will be fortunate to enjoy this composition. The daughter of Chinese-American immigrants, Gerritsen’s books have been published in forty countries, and more than 30 million copies have been sold around the world.

The program will be held on Thursday, June 30th, from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM at Green Brook Country Club, located at 100 West Green Brook Rd. in North Caldwell, NJ. A fee will be charged to attend this event and will include lunch, a presentation by the author, a question and answer period, a book signing, and an invitation to a private author book chat (with the purchase of a book from 2:30pm- 3:00pm). Wine, cheese, cake, and coffee/tea will be served.

To register by phone, call the Green Brook Country Club at 973-228-1800, extension 200 (receptionist); or email Marlene Leen Cohen, the book club’s founder at mmlc2926@aol.com. Early registration and car pooling are strongly suggested. No refunds will be issued after reservations are made.
