If you like beer and you like soccer, then you should plan to be at the 5th Annual South Orange Elks/Cougar Soccer Oktoberfest this Saturday, October 11 at the South Orange Elks Club in South Orange.
The Cougar Soccer Club currently has more than 250 players on 16 travel teams and over 300 kids in the MSO Kickers (formally Cougar Kickers) program from U9 through U19.
The club was founded in 1965 and is a self-funded, not-for-profit organization of parent volunteers. More than 10,000 children have played in the club and hundreds of parents have volunteered over the years.
“Our priority is to provide a healthy atmosphere for each child’s physical and social development,” proclaims the club website.
“With the enormous growth of soccer in our state, we hope to continue to maintain our goal of providing an environment in which talented and committed soccer players can achieve their full potential and compete at the highest levels.”
This is the Cougar Soccer Club’s only fundraiser of the year.
Cost is $25 per person or $60 for a family of four. Admittance includes: premium German beverages, Wisconsin brats, spaetzle, Bavarian pretzels, hot dogs and “fixins” for the kids, and dessert.
