Can-Can, Night of the Living Dead, and More Local Theater for 2014-15

From the Paper Mill Playhouse to The Theater Project, The Strollers, and interACT, there will be plenty of live theater to enjoy in Maplewood, Millburn and South Orange this 2014-2015 season.

Paper Mill Playhouse:

  • Can-Can, which debuted on Broadway in 1953 and made Gwen Verdon a star, will open Paper Mill Playhouse’s 2014-2015 season. This Broadway-bound revival will October 1 through 26 and stars the Tony-nominated Kate Baldwin as Pistache and Jason Danieley as Aristide. Can-Can will be performed eight times a week: Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m., Thursdays at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8:00 p.m.Saturdays at 1:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 1:30 p.m. and 7:00 pm.  Tickets are on sale now and range from $28 to $99 and can be purchased by calling 973.376.4343, at the Paper Mill Playhouse Box Office or online at www.PaperMill.org. Groups of 10 or more can receive up to a 40% discount on tickets and should call 973.315.1680.

The Strollers, Maplewood’s Community Theater since 1932, welcomes “anyone with an interest in the arts and a willingness to work toward a common goal, whether onstage or behind the scenes.” This season, The Strollers will present:

Romero’a Night of the Living Dead Live, by Christopher Bond, Dale Boyer and Trevor Martin, Created by Christopher Harrison and Phil Pattison, Based on the original film Night of the Living Dead by George A. Romero and John Russo and Produced by Russ Streiner. Auditions will be held Monday, August 18 6:30 pm-9pm and Saturday August 23 10am-1pm by appointment. Performance Dates are: October 10-12, 17-18, 24-26 2014, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m. To schedule an audition or for more information, please click here.
