The following is from Vanguard Theater Company:
Vanguard Theater Company, a NJ based 501 © 3 arts organization, announced auditions for their newest production “FRIGHT NIGHT.”
To be presented over Halloween weekend, Fright Night promises to be an exciting musical review with selections from Broadway’s most spine chilling musicals including Sweeney Todd , Carrie, Rocky Horror, Dracula and Phantom of the Opera.
Open call auditions will take place: Friday, September 9, from 6 – 9 p.m. and Sunday, September 11, from 4 – 8 p.m. at the New Jersey School of Dramatic Arts, 593 Bloomfield Ave, Bloomfield, NJ and Monday, September 12, 6-9 p.m. at South Orange Middle School, 70 N. Ridgewood Road, South Orange, NJ. Due to the nature of the show/material, Vanguard is seeking a mature cast, but all artists living, dead (and those in between) are welcome to audition.
Auditioners should prepare 32 bars (a verse and chorus) of a song that shows off their best voice and bring a headshot, resume (if applicable) and sheet music in the appropriate key.
“Fright Night is going to be a fabulous evening of Broadway style musical numbers served up by the area’s most talented, diverse and killer performers,” says Vanguard Theater Company co-founder Janeece Freeman-Clark. “As always our goal is to produce a quality evening of theater that is both entertaining and affordable. This will be no different. This is going to be our most unorthodox theater experience to date. I am beyond excited,” said co-founder Daryl L. Stewart.
The cast will be announced in mid-September. For tickets or more information please visit www.vanguardtheater.org.
