The Seth Boyden Demonstration School community came together for a celebration of a year of art and music on Wednesday, June 11, with musical performances and a gallery exhibit. The 5th grade band and orchestra performed, as well as 4th and 5th grade choruses — and some buskers in the halls.
The choruses were led by Risa Yesowitz, the band by Jasmine Block, and the orchestra by Miki Hatcher. Art instructor Judy Elman received a standing ovation as parents and students acknowledged her years of service and inspiration. Mrs. Elman is retiring at the end of this school year.
Seth Boyden School, located in Maplewood on Boyden Avenue near Springfield Avenue, teaches students from throughout the South Orange – Maplewood School District.
