From the South Orange-Maplewood Adult School:
Inspired by Isaiah Sheffer’s Selected Shorts at Symphony Space, LIKELY STORIES (formerly known as Celebrity Readings) is an evening of storytelling; great short stories are “performed” by celebrated actors. This year’s event features local luminaries Charlie Pollock, Ami Brabson and Emily Zacharias. LIKELY STORIES will take place on Monday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the Columbia High School Auditorium in Maplewood.
CHARLIE POLLOCK just closed in Lazarus, David Bowie’s off-Broadway musical at the New York Theater Workshop. Pollock’s Broadway credits include Violet, The Wild Party, Love’s Labour’s Lost, Urinetown and 9 to 5. He recently received a Helen Hayes nomination for his performance in Elmer Gantry. His television credits include The Good Wife, As the World Turns, and Law & Order.
AMI BRABSON has had recurring roles in Homicide, Law & Order SVU, Damages, Unforgettable, among other television shows and soap operas. She recently starred in the New York premier of Oni Faida Lampley’s Tough Titty. She is also an accomplished cabaret singer.
EMILY ZACHARIAS directs LIKELY STORIES. She has been featured in six Broadway productions and has created many roles Off-Broadway, Off-Off and in regional theatre. She is a Literary Associate at the Drama Desk-nominated company The WorkShop Theater.
Tickets for LIKELY STORIES are $25 and can be purchased at somadultschool.org or by calling 973.378.7620.
