Ashley Marketplace, the gourmet supermarket at 1 South Orange Avenue, is not going anywhere, says South Orange Village President Sheena Collum.
After a number of local shoppers went on social media to question the status of the business, Collum took to her Facebook page to state that the supermarket was remodeling: “There’s a section that’s now dedicated to people who are gluten free, there are more gourmet items being brought in (in response to customer requests), and a variety of other changes to maximize their space for the customer experience. ”

I hate responding back to the rumor mill but I’m going to anyway. Ashley Marketplace is in no way “closing”. For those who have gone in, perhaps there is less inventory of your favorite items. That’s because they are remodeling. There’s a section that’s now dedicated to people who are gluten free, there are more gourmet items being brought in (in response to customer requests), and a variety of other changes to maximize their space for the customer experience. The store manager thinks they should have all inventory moved in within the next couple weeks. So with that said #shoplocal.
