Despite a hot and muggy night, roughly 500 people attended the Maplewood Village Alliance’s 8th Annual Girls Night Out on Thursday, filling the streets, shops and restaurants of town with laughter, shopping, and plenty of girl bonding.
More than two dozen Village merchants had an array of activities on tap, including door prizes, raffles, signature cocktails, mini-massages, trunk shows, live music and more.
MVA’s Julie Doran and Deb Colon handed out 350 swag bags — donated by Sarah Maloney of Sunquest Funding — within an hour and a half, said Doran.
Local restaurants had lines out the door. All over town, businesses had donation buckets for The Caroline Fund to support brain cancer research, in memory of local merchant Angelo Vayas.
Doran will have names of “Shop to Win” prize winners, as well as a tally of donations collected, next week. Stay tuned to The Village Green for updates.
Girls Night Out was sponsored by Alison Ziefert and Collette Andrews of Keller Williams Midtown Direct Realty.
