The following press release is from the Maplewood Village Alliance, the not-for-profit organization that manages the Village’s special improvement district:
The Maplewood Village Alliance, the “MVA”, is a non-profit dedicated to the preservation, promotion and enhancement of Maplewood Village.
For the past several years, under the leadership of Catherine Delett, the organization has made significant improvements, including a new streamlined website and comprehensive marketing plan that increased social media engagement and doubled email list engagement.
Catherine produced three Art Walk and Music Fest events, the last of which was the largest one yet with approximately 3000 attendees. She organized Windows for Women in 2022 and 2023. In 2022, the program was featured in three press outlets including the Star-Ledger, on News 12 NJ, and attracted the attention of the NJ Secretary of State, Tahesha L. Way, who then visited Maplewood.
Catherine was instrumental in supporting the Baker Square project, a public gathering space being created at the corner of Baker Street and Maplewood Avenue, and developed a fundraising campaign resulting in $22,000 in donations. She also wrote a grant application for the Maplewood Foundation resulting in a $10,000 grant for Baker Square.
Building on this momentum, the MVA welcomes new Executive Director Ronnella Walker.
Ronnella, a lifelong neighbor of Maplewood who fondly remembers bringing her kids to the Maplewood movie theater, has a background in marketing and community engagement and brings over 10 years experience to the role.
“We’re excited by Ronnella’s energy and professionalism. We look forward to making more improvements under her leadership and taking Maplewood Village to the next level,” says Maplewood Village Alliance Board President Amy Howlett.
