From the Springfield Avenue Partnership:
Maplewood’s annual MayFest celebration returns to Springfield Avenue on Sunday, May 24, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
MayFest is a perennial favorite event and the town’s largest street fair. It runs along Springfield Avenue, from Indiana Street to Rutgers Street. This family friendly event includes many activities for kids (pony rides, petting zoo, face painting and crafts just to name a few), plus retail vendors selling a fun variety of merchandise and non-profit organizations sharing information about their organizations for adults. And we can’t forget the food! Lots and lots of food!
Plus, everyone’s favorite: live music by popular local bands and special performances and demonstrations by Springfield Avenue dance, self-defense, and exercise studios.
Local Bands will play at corner of Springfield Avenue and Prospect Street:
12 PM The Band from Bossa
1 PM Los Traficantes del Amor
2 PM Mood Ring
3 PM Swingtown (MCM)
4 PM Summer’97
Springfield Avenue merchant performances will include:
- LaChaney’s Dance & Music Academy
- Blue Life Karate
- Viva Z Club
- Inspirational Dance
- ATA Martial Arts
“This will be a great way to celebrate the unofficial start of summer! What better way to ring in the season of fun and sun than by spending the day with your family and friends at our annual street fair?” said Julie Doran of the Springfield Avenue Partnership. “There’s something for everyone at MayFest.”
This event wouldn’t be possible without the support and generosity of our sponsors. Thank you to our presenting sponsors Vanessa Pollock Realty Team of Keller-Williams Midtown Direct Realty, and Maplecrest Ford Lincoln of Union. And many thanks to our supporting sponsors: Burger King, CKO Kickboxing of Maplewood, DCH Audi of Millburn, Valentine Plumbing, PSE&G, and Woolley Fuel.
