The NJ350 Holiday Pop Up store, featuring merchandise celebrating the 350th anniversary of the founding of New Jersey as well as work by local artists, flung open its doors today to South Orange shoppers.
The store, located at 65 South Orange Avenue next door to Indulgence Spa, will be open for just four days. South Orange is the last of 15 New Jersey towns to host the NJ350 Pop Up store and plans to be the best.
“This really shows how South Orange Village is gaining momentum,” said Matt Glass of the South Orange Village Center Alliance at the Pop Up grand opening and ribbon cutting today. Glass thanked many for their help, including Jeff Buehler of Main Street New Jersey who has been an advocate in helping South Orange Village secure the coveted shop.
The store contains New Jersey branded merchandise including shirts, glassware, mugs, books, a ‘Jerseyopoly’ board game and “Goodnight, Jersey” children’s book. Locals can also show their South Orange pride by purchasing t-shirts, tote bags, mugs, hats and Christmas ornaments emblazoned with the vibrant South Orange Village Center Alliance (SOVCA) logo.
Local artists and craftspeople will have their wares for sale, including Donna Ritter, Joy Yagid, Doug Zacker, Margaret Martin, Mike Griot, Juanita Martin, Jennifer Glass, Debra Davidson, Michael Lonardo, Holly Scalera, Chrissy McIntyre, Sheila Sugarman, Carol Hicks, Andrea Weisbard and more. (Artists keep 100% of the proceeds of sales).
There will also be gift certificates available from Town Hall Deli, Spa Lady and great NJ items from Kitchen a la Mode.
NJ350 will be open from December 11-14, at the following days and hours:
Thursday, December 11, noon to 6 pm
Friday, December 12, noon 6 pm
Saturday, December 13, noon to 8 pm
