Two new businesses are arriving on Springfield Avenue in Maplewood this March like harbingers of spring.
Supreme Dental Associates has opened its doors at 1781 Springfield Avenue after beautifully transforming an office building across the street from Verjus. Supreme Dental is expanding from its primary location in West Orange. Call 973-325-9800 or visit www.supremedentalassociates.com.
Meanwhile, Just 4 Her at 1707 Springfield Avenue will host a ribbon-cutting on Saturday, March 19, at 11:30 a.m. Although the windows were still papered over on a recent visit, the spanking-new signage read “Children’s Boutique. Fashion. Shoes. Accessories.”
The news about the two businesses came during an update at the monthly meeting of the Maplewood Chamber of Commerce, when board member Jane Witkin, owner of Verjus and also a member of the Springfield Avenue Partnership, shared the information during a report on Springfield Avenue. Witkin also noted that the Wine Barrel at Springfield Avenue and Prospect street had installed attractive new signage, working with the Springfield Avenue Partnership’s design review committee.
Other updates for Springfield Avenue (from a report sent by Mayor Vic DeLuca): Floors should start rising soon on the new housing project at the former PSE&G site. Meanwhile, the future Wawa site, which is currently being cleared, should be under construction in April with a planned opening before the end of 2016.
