The former Marylawn School on Scotland Road was broken into Tuesday, and a lawn mower and snow blower were taken, according to the South Orange Police blotter. An officer on routine patrol at approximately 2:25 p.m. discovered that a window at the school had been forced open, said police. The site facility manager told police about the missing equipment. The Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.

Theft of vehicle
A Montclair resident stated that he had parked his vehicle (2007 BMW) on Second St. at approximately 3:30pm on 9-2-15 and when he returned to it at 8:00pm he discovered it had been stolen. The victim stated that the vehicle was unlocked and he believes he had left a spare key inside the vehicle.
Theft of bicycle
An Orange resident stated that on 9-2-15 at approximately 8:00am he had locked up his bicycle (men’s blue Mongoose mountain bike) at the main train station and when he returned to it at 6:00pm he discovered it had been stolen.
Attempted bicycle theft/arrest
Torre Garrett, a 38 year old Newark resident was arrested on 8-31-15 at approximately 1:35pm after officers responding to the area of First St./Valley St. located the subject fleeing the area on foot after attempting to steal a bicycle. The subject was arrested without incident, transported to police headquarters and processed accordingly.

Counterfeit bills
An employee which works for an establishment located on Village Pl. stated that on 8-29-15 at approximately 5:35pm a thin black male in his late teens had passed a counterfeit $50 bill in her store and that a second actor also described as a black male in his teens attempted to pass a counterfeit $20 bill. Both actors had left the scene prior to police arrival.
Theft from vehicle
A Clark St. resident stated that sometime during the evening or overnight hours of 8-29-15 an unknown actor(s) had entered her unlocked vehicle (2003 Honda) and removed her computer bag which contained her HP computer. The vehicle was parked in the driveway at the time of the incident.
Criminal mischief
A Prospect St. resident stated that sometime between 11:15am and 3:00pm on 8-30-15 an unknown actor(s) broke off both side mirrors from to her vehicle (2008 Infinity) which was parked in the street.
