Burglary, Bike Thefts Lead Maplewood Crime Blotter

A home on Wellesley Street was entered sometime during the daytime on July 20 and a laptop and cash were stolen, said Sgt. Christopher Black of the Maplewood Police Department.

On Saturday night, several vehicles were broken into in the Hilton Avenue area and two bicycles were stolen, said Black. At approximately 3:30 a.m., three juveniles were stopped following a report of a bicycle theft in progress on Hilton Ave. The three were found to be in possession of the stolen bicycles as well as other items removed from unlocked vehicles. The three juveniles from Irvington, ages 14, 15 and 16, were all arrested and charged with various offenses.

July 20, 2015; Theft from Auto; Overnight a vehicle parked in the driveway of a Fernwood Rd residence was entered and headphones stolen.

July 20, 2015; Bicycle Theft; During the overnight hours a bicycle left laying in the backyard of a home on Burroughs Way was stolen.

July 21, 2015; Theft from Auto; During an unknown time frame, change and ear buds were stolen from an unsecured vehicle on Parker Ave.

July 24, 2015; Theft from Auto; Between 2-6 PM, a purse was removed from an unsecured vehicle on Burroughs Way.

July 26, 2015; Burglary; Between midnight and 5:30 PM, Bradfords Barr and Restaurant on Springfield Ave was forcibly entered and a laptop stolen.
