Maplewood Police Arrest Man for Arson in Connection with Car Fire

Maplewood police arrested a Union resident Thursday and charged him with arson in connection with a suspicious car fire on Evelyn Court. On Thursday at around 2 p.m., a car parked in the driveway of a home was reported to be on fire, said Sgt. Christopher Black. The fire department and police responded and determined that the fire was suspicious, Black said. After an investigation, police determined Justyn Lawrence, 26, was allegedly responsible for setting the fire, said Black. Police arrested Lawrence and charged him with aggravated arson.

August 5, 2015; Motor Vehicle Theft; During the overnight hours a Jeep was stolen from Harding St.

August 6, 2015; Attempted Motor Vehicle Theft; Between 5 and 7 PM a vehicle parked on Van Ness Ter was entered and the ignition damaged.

August 7, 2015; Theft; At approximately 4:15 PM, unknown individual/s stole three bags off of a porch on Van Ness Ter.
