From the South Orange Police Department:
The 2016 South Orange Police Coffee with a Cop event is being held on Tuesday October 25 at 7 p.m. at the Baird Community Center.
Coffee with a Cop removes the typical barriers that come between officers and residents. It’s as beneficial for residents as it is for officers. Line level officers begin to see clearly the benefit of police-community collaboration and remember why they decided to put on the badge. Residents learn just how much they have in common with the officers. The shift in attitudes, from both sides, helps transform an agency into a community-oriented policing organization and increases public awareness of the challenges faced by police each and every day.
