A 20-year-old man was assaulted by three men on Sloan Street Saturday night, according to the South Orange Police blotter. At around 9:45 p.m. the man was walking on Sloan Street near Third Street when he was reportedly approached by three men wearing dark clothes and ski masks, said police. One of the masked men asked to use the man’s cell phone, and when he refused the man struck him in the face and ran away with the other two men, said police. The Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.

Burglary to vehicle
A Ward Pl. resident stated that sometime during the overnight hours of 1-1-16 an unknown actor(s) had entered his unlocked vehicle (2010 Mazda) and ransacked the interior. The vehicle was parked in the driveway and no items were reported missing.
DWI/arrest
Juan Aguire, a 50 year old Bloomfield resident was arrested on 1-1-16 at approximately midnight after an officer on routine patrol observed the subject asleep behind the wheel while stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of Centre St. and South Orange Ave. During the subsequent field investigation it was discovered that the subject had been operating his vehicle while under the influence. The subject was arrested at the scene transported to police headquarters and processed accordingly.

Criminal mischief
An employee of a food establishment located on Valley St. stated that on 12-27-15 at approximately 2:50am an actor described as being a black male was seen damaging an exterior window to the restaurant before fleeing the scene on foot.
Burglary to vehicle
A Page Ter. resident stated that sometime during the overnight hours of 12-24-15 an unknown actor had entered her vehicle (2001 Nissan) which was parked in the driveway and ransacked the console and glove box. No items were reported missing at the time of the report.
Burglary to vehicles
A Meeker St. resident stated on 12-25-15 at approximately 3:53am he heard someone in his driveway and when he looked outside his window he observed a white male wearing a white t-shirt and carrying a black backpack inside one of his vehicles. The victim confronted the actor that fled the scene on foot. Responding units checked the area with negative results. No items were removed from the vehicles that were parked in his driveway.
Theft/arrest
Terell Morris, a 49 year old Booton NJ resident was arrested on 12-25-15 at approximately 1:40pm after he was observed on a porch of a Walton Rd. residence. During the ensuing investigation it was discovered that the subject had removed three gift wrapped presents from the porch area of the dwelling. The subject was transported to police headquarters and processed according.

Theft from vehicle
An Irving Ave. resident stated that at approximately 3:50am he heard individuals outside his residence in his driveway. When the resident looked out his window he observed two black males rummaging through one of his vehicles. When the resident turned on the outside lights the actors fled the area on foot. The resident stated that the actors removed approximately $10 in change from one of his unlocked vehicles.

A Self Pl. resident stated that sometime during the evening or overnight hours of 12-22-15 an unknown actor(s) had entered her unlocked vehicle (2010 Nissan) which was parked in the driveway and removed a laptop bag and an Apple laptop.
Theft of packages
A Vose Ave. resident stated that sometime between 10:25am and noon on 12-22-15 an unknown actor(s) had entered his enclosed porch area and removed three packages that had been delivered that day by UPS.
Theft of packages
A South Ridgewood Rd. resident stated that on 12-22-15 during the mid-afternoon hours she observed two black males wearing dark colored hooded sweatshirts exit a silver Honda and walk up to her neighbor’s dwelling and remove packages from the front door area. The Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.
Burglary/theft of pipes
A Centre St. resident stated that sometime between 11:00am and 7:45pm on 12-22-15 an unknown actor(s) had entered her home via a rear basement window and once inside the residence the actors preceded to remove the copper pipes from the basement area.
