Strong Arm Robbery of ATM User in South Orange

A Maplewood resident using an ATM on Academy Street on July 5 at around 7 p.m. said a man ran up to her from behind and grabbed her wallet from her hand, according to South Orange Police. The resident said the man fled in a dark colored SUV.

The man is described as being black, in his early 20’s, with a medium complexion and wearing a baseball cap. The Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.

Theft of cell phone
A Newark resident stated that sometime between 6:30pm and 7:00pm on 7-7-15 she was at the town pool when some unknown actor(s) removed her I-phone from her belongings.

Theft of cell phone
A juvenile stated that on 7-7-15 at approximately 3:00pm she left her cell phone in a store on South Orange Ave. and when she returned to it she discovered it had been stolen. The cell phone was tracked to Ivy Hill park in Newark and recovered by the victim’s father a few hours after the incident.

Criminal Mischief
An Academy St. resident stated that sometime during the evening or overnight hours of 7-4-15 an unknown actor put a large dent into the hood of his vehicle (2010 Mitsubishi) which was parked on the street.
