The South Orange Middle School HSA Fundraising Team is looking to help raise $20,000 for the 2016-2017 academic school year.
In the past, the “No Frills Fundraiser” was a major contributor to reaching the HSA’s budget goals. But due to a 32% decrease in donations last year, the HSA Fundraising Team needed to create ways to fill the gap in these funds.
These funds support multiple school programs including teacher grants, YouthNet Clubs, the school musical, class trips, student planners, the graduating class fund, cultural arts and enrichment, school and courtyard beautification, and classroom and school library maintenance.
The HSA Fundraising team created three fundraising events to encourage the community to get involved and support the school system. The first of these events is the adult-only “Spooktacular Halloween Party” at the South Orange Elks on October 29. This event gives parents the opportunity to have some Halloween fun while raising money to support SOMS. Click here to purchase tickets now.
The two other events will be the SOMS “Sip & Shop” with a December date to be determined and the SOMS 2nd Annual Flea Market on April 23. Both of these events will work to raise funds for SOMS while involving the school and surrounding community.

AMAZON.com Shopping Program
By using the SOMS Amazon.com link every time you make a purchase on Amazon, 4% of your money spent will go to SOMS HSA. Be sure to bookmark this link and spread the word to friends and family. This is an easy way to raise money for SOMS without spending any extra money.
Stop & Shop A+ School Rewards
By linking your Stop & Shop card to A+ School Rewards, each time you shop at any Stop & Shop will help earn SOMS cash. Click this link and select register your card, which is located in the red box on the right for customers. All you need is your 13-digist Stop & Shop Card number and our school ID number (SCHOOL ID# 40254).
Without any extra cost, every time you shop will help fundraise to meet the HSA goals.
Spirit Wear
Show your SOMS Pride and contribute to our fundraising efforts by wearing the latest SOMS Spirit Wear. This year, we will have Spirit Wear pop-up shops during lunch twice per month. Details and sign up to follow. Contact Kimberly Minor (kimberlyleeminor@gmail.com) with questions.
Box Tops
You can also support South Orange Middle School by cutting out Box Tops from the products you already own and buy regularly. You can also shop online through the Box Tops for Education Marketplace online link. You can find all retailers and products and register here.
