Preschool children are naturally curious. At Open Door Nursery School in Millburn the staff capitalizes on that curiosity by incorporating S.T.E.M activities into the classroom when possible. Recently Natasha Maguire, Open Door parent and Engineer at Skanska, showed the 3s and 4s classes how to use knowledge of shapes to build bridges using gumdrops and toothpicks. The children pretended to be civil engineers and built some very sweet bridges!
