‘The Wiz’ Eases on Down to Maplewood Middle School This Weekend

Maplewood Middle School will present three performances of “The Wiz” this weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

“The Wiz” is a musical based on the books of  L. Frank Baum (“The Wonderful Wizard of Oz”) with music and lyrics by Charlie Smalls and book by William F. Brown. The 1975 Broadway production won seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The 1978 film featured Diana Ross and Michael Jackson.

Ticket prices for the MMS production are $12 for premium tickets and $10 for regular tickets. Tickets can be purchased at the door on the day of the performance or at https://sites.google.com/site/mmsmusical/. All purchased tickets can be picked up at Will Call on the day of the performance. Maplewood Middle School is located at 7 Burnet Street in Maplewood. Showtimes are Friday, February 27 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, February 28 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, March 1, at 2 p.m.
