Kalman Kraham, an alumnus of the Maplewood Lacrosse Club, is playing lacrosse in Israel this week on a winter service trip. Kraham is teaching lacrosse to kids across Israel and playing with and against the Israeli national team.
A Maplewood resident and 9th grader at the Pingry School, Kraham distinguished himself in Israel by leading the winter service trip team with five goals in a recent game. Read more about the game here.
Kraham is participating in the winter service trip organized by Israel Lacrosse, a non-profit organization “dedicated to relentlessly and strategically pursuing the goal of making lacrosse the national sport of Israel, through exponential growth.” According to the organization’s website, Israel Lacrosse is utilizing “lacrosse as a platform to connect Diaspora Jews with Israel” as well as “bridge divided communities in our region.”
Kraham, who plays midfield, was a member of the MLC 8th grade team that won the NJ AA State Championship on June 3, 2016.
