A shredding truck will be present from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or until it fills up, at the Maplewood Recycling Center located at 359 Boyden Avenue on Saturday, October 24, 2015.
This service is for Maplewood residents only. Residents can shred and dispose of documents and confidential items free of charge.
Any Maplewood resident bringing items to the event will need to show proof of residency. This can be in the form of a driver’s license, utility bill, etc., said Bell.
The mobile shredding truck capable of shredding up to 6,000 lbs of paper per hour as well as staples, clips, binders and books. Uniformed personnel assist in bringing documents to the truck and then shred the documents on site. A closed-circuit television screen allows customers to watch the documents as they enter the shredder.
All shredded paper is recycled.
