Shoppers in South Orange may have noticed a big gift they’re getting from the South Orange Parking Authority: As in years past, SOPA is giving away free parking through December. All metered and municipal lot park is free from December 1 through December 28. Paid parking begins again on December 29.
But shoppers and visitors still need to remember to be not naughty but nice when they park.
Mark Hartwyk, director of the Parking Authority, reminds customers that the parking are free for just two hours. “Chalking and electronic surveys will conducted by officers,” said Hartwyk. “Tickets could be issued for abusing the 2-hour limit.”
