Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr. (Democrat, NJ-10) will hold a conversation with constituents at Maplewood Town Hall on Thursday, Feb. 23 from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
According to a release from his office, Payne “will take questions and share his views on issues important to the American people.”
Maplewood Mayor Victor DeLuca said there is no RSVP for the event. “We can accommodate about 225,” said DeLuca. “I think we will be close to that.”
Town hall events with Republican representatives across the country have experienced high turnout recently; nearby, Congressman Leonard Lance (Republican, NJ-7) added a second town hall amid accusations by some constituents that they were being shut out of RSVPs. Lance’s office has said that there has been no preferential ticketing.
Maplewood Town Hall is located at 574 Valley Street, Maplewood.
