There’s good news for those in search of locally sourced, Jersey Fresh produce: All three local farmers markets are getting an early start this season.
The Millburn Farmers Market returns Tuesday, June 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The 24th Annual South Orange Farmers Market will be open for business on Wednesday, June 3, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
And the Maplewood Farmers Market returns on Monday, June 8, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The South Orange market, which is organized by the South Orange Village Center Alliance, takes place at Spiotta Park & Sloan Street and runs every Wednesday from June 3 through October 28. The Alliance is promising the return of all the market’s regulars and more: “All of your favorite farmers will be at the market and we’ve added some great new vendors. This market will have everything you need to make your perfect four-course meal. Different merchants every week.”
The Maplewood market is located at Springfield Avenue and Indiana Street and is managed by the Township of Maplewood and Assistant Township Administrator Cesar Correa. The market will run every Monday through October 26. However, depending on weather and market attendance, it may extend until November 9. This year’s vendors include: Alstede Farms; Stony Hills Gardens; Hoboken Farms: Pickles, Olives, etc.; Jersey City Veggie Burgers and Paolo’s Kitchen – Gluten Free Specialist.
The Millburn Farmers Market opens June 2 and runs every Tuesday through Nov. 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is located on the corner of Essex and Main streets in Millburn. It’s managed by the Downtown Millburn Development Alliance.
