This Sunday, January 24 at 10:00 a.m., Wyoming Presbyterian Church hosts Maplewood resident Bob Boneberg who will give insight into the horrors of current day human trafficking and report on efforts to combat it.
Mr. Boneberg is the former board chair of Free the Slaves which was founded in 2000 and is widely regarded as a leader in the modern abolition movement. Their history is one of groundbreaking research, successful advocacy to change government policy and business practices, award-winning documentaries and books to spread awareness, and innovative field programs that free slaves.
His legal expertise has contributed to this effort by supporting Free the Slaves frontline country offices, providing policy advocacy on business supply-chain transparency, and securing support from U.S. law firms for the work of Free the Slaves.
Mr. Boneberg is a former chair of the New York State Bar Association’s International Law & Practice Section Committee on International Human Rights.
The community is invited to share worship at 10 am to hear his talk followed by a Q & A at 11:00 a.m.
