The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard watch for Essex, Hudson and Union counties in New Jersey. Snow accumulation predictions for the Maplewood/South Orange area are currently in the 8-to-12 inch range, with winds gusting to 35 mph.
NJ.com is reporting that the snowfall should start between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. early Saturday morning with snowfall heavy throughout the day on Saturday and trailing off into Sunday.
Of course, we’re getting off easy compared to Washington, D.C. which forecasters predict will be wallopped with more than two feet of snow. Read more about the big picture of Winter Storm Jonas here.
