Peter M. Schmidt, the husband of South Orange Recreation Director Kate Schmidt, passed away last Thursday, November 6, at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, on Thursday.
Schmidt was born in Red Bank, N.J., and had lived in Maplewood for the past 26 years. He worked in sales for Switchgear Solutions, Monroe, NJ, since 2011.
Schmidt was the beloved husband of Kate Ullmann Schmidt, devoted father of Colin Schmidt, and dear brother of Carol Murray and Robert Schmidt.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at Prospect Presbyterian Church, 646 Prospect St., Maplewood, on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m.
