South Orange Village Center’s Hometown Holiday — featuring photos with Santa, an Elf Parade up South Orange Avenue and a tree lighting — brought in its biggest crowds yet with its 2016 celebration today.
“We had a record 125 families visit Santa at the firehouse and then hundreds parade with a brass band, the South Orange Police. and Santa in a South Orange Fire Department firetruck up to 76 South Orange Avenue for the tree lighting,” said Matt Glass, Chair of the South Orange Village Center Alliance, which produces the event.
“[Village President] Sheena [Collum] and several trustees were there for our biggest crowd yet,” continued Glass. “The Pop ’n Shop was packed afterward and we broke our single day sales record today.”
Glass also took some adorable and charming photos of families posing with Santa at the firehouse (see below). Complimentary photos will be emailed to every family who visited Santa.
Finally, Glass wanted to thank the South Orange Fire Department, the South Orange Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs, and sponsors The Lichtman-Rabney Team at Keller Williams and BCB Community Bank.
