Lydia Johnson Dance (LJD), the esteemed and rapidly growing dance school in Maplewood, is currently registering for Winter/Spring 2015 classes. For class descriptions and more information, visit the LJD website or email ljdschoolnj@gmail.com.
In addition, consider making a tax-deductible donation to LJD’s “Mirrors for Motion” fund, to enable the studio to purchase sorely needed new dance mirrors for its studio at the Burgdorff Center.
“…a dance studio is not complete without mirrors and barres,” said Johnson in an email. “For a dancer, a mirror is an integral tool for working towards proper technique and correct alignment. We want all our young dancers to be able to work with mirrors.”
The studio was able to purchase a much needed additional barre this season, but as a small, non-profit they are currently unable to afford the cost of 3-4 new mirrors, said Johnson.
Portable dance mirrors cost approximately $500 each. Make a donation to the Mirror Fund when you sign up for Winter/Spring classes.
