There’s going to be a special guest at the Maplewood ArtWalk & Music Fest on Sunday. As if a day of art, performances by local bands, great food, loads of kids activities — and a juried art show — weren’t enough, Elsa from Frozen will also be on hand.
Visitors will be able to sing their hearts out with a professional to the smash Academy-Award winning song, “Let it Go.”
New York City-based actress and singer Serena Ryen will be playing Elsa from the movie “Frozen,” belting out the hit song in front of Scrivener’s (178 Maplewood Avenue) between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.; performance times will be 12:30, 1:45, and 3:30.
According to her bio, Ryen currently studies at The Stella Adler Studio of Acting and makes frequent musical appearances at children’s events. Her favorite past roles include Sleeping Beauty in the award-winning Disenchanted: A New Musical, the Princess in Shakespeare’s Love’s Labours Lost, and Martha in The Children’s Hour.
Ryen is also the Artistic Director and co-founder of Roundtable Theatre Lab, and a sometime teaching artist with the Stella Adler Studio’s Outreach Program. (You can follow her on Twitter @SerenaRyen).
Visitors are welcome to come and meet with ‘Elsa,’ take a picture, and of course sing along with her.
