Colliding his two loves, rock and opera, Alex Kariotis creates a new musical genre, switching from smooth, dramatic Italian vocals with a full orchestra, to gritty rock vocals with searing guitar riffs.
It’s a perfect fit for the SouthNext festival and its theme of “creative collisions.”
On June 18 at 2:30 p.m., Kariotis and the Rock Opera Orchestra will take the main stage at the South Orange Performing Arts Center.
“This is a full 12 piece show,” said Kariotris. “Grammy nominated string players as well as well know Broadway and touring musicians are part of my live band.”
