Mustang Sally’s Now: Driving Women’s Leadership, a program powered by Maplecrest Ford Lincoln, has launched a monthly series of workshops featuring speakers and panel discussions designed to empower generations of Northern New Jersey women to build confidence and connections.
The May session, “Networking for Scaredy Cats,” is an interactive workshop to help women at all levels of their careers and stages of life to be more comfortable with the art of cultivating relationships and networking. Featured speaker Abby “Absolutely Abby” Kohut will address:
· How to differentiate yourself from others so people will remember you
· What ‘paying it forward’ is all about
· Why being specific when asking for help is important
· How to identify the best networking opportunities in your line of work
· How to develop long-term relationships with customers and peers
Kohut was selected as one of the top 100 influential people online (Fast Company Magazine) and named as one of “The Monster 11 for 2011: Career Experts Who Can Help Your Job Search.” She has been featured on over 50 TV and radio segments, including Fox News & Fox News Radio, ABC, CBS, NBC, Good Morning Connecticut, and Bloomberg Radio.
In the spirit of the name, Mustang Sally’s Now: Driving Women’s Leadership envisions a bold change in the traditional way women view their car buying and service experiences. Beyond that episodic transaction, we strive to help inspire a local community of women to strengthen and embrace their unique voices by mastering a variety of professional and life skills.
Effective networking is a must no matter what line of work one might endeavor – and yet, many women feel intimidated or unsure how to build business relationships. To help address this issue, this month’s workshop is designed to provide an opportunity to learn valuable tips and strategies that will lead to a comfort with networking.
