Love The Able Baker on Maplewood Avenue? Can’t get enough of their scones, pies, cookies and excellent coffee? Here’s some good news.
The bakery will soon be doubling its current size, expanding into the vacant office space next door (formerly a chiropractor’s office).

“We have signed the lease,” said owner Julie Pauly on Friday. “We plan to expand our kitchen, production space and counter space, as well as our retail customer seating both indoors and out.”
The bakery currently occupies 630 square feet; the expansion will add over 500 square feet to total nearly 1,200 square feet.
The expansion plans will need to be approved by the Maplewood Planning Board; Pauly anticipates it will be on the agenda at the board’s September meeting. Construction will begin soon after.
