At its annual meeting on Feb. 7, the South Orange Village Center Alliance announced a new marketing campaign for 2017, aimed at promoting and supporting downtown businesses.
The campaign — “Everybody Belongs Here” — also happens to have particular resonance to many locals in the current national political climate.
“My heart is full as I watch our businesses and property owners coalesce around a common theme and call to action that ‘Everybody Belongs Here,'” wrote Village President Sheena Collum on Facebook. “Be proud South Orange — this is a very special place and make sure you #shoplocal.”
SOVCA Chair Matt Glass had previewed the new campaign to the South Orange Village Board of Trustees at a presentation on Jan. 9.
The campaign seeks to market South Orange Center’s diversity — “where everyone feels welcome” — Glass explained.
“Everybody Belongs Here” will be emblazoned on street pole banners and other materials. “No matter what you look like, no matter who you love, you should come to South Orange,” said Glass.
