Joe Ramaikas, husband, father and beloved Maplewood cafe owner, died suddenly Tuesday morning while vacationing with his wife Felice Ecker and son Hank in Hawaii.
The following was posted to the Cedar Ridge Cafe & Bakery Facebook page Tuesday evening:
It is with saddened souls and heavy heavy hearts that we need to inform you of the sudden passing of our beloved Joe Ramaikas. Please take a moment to reflect on the memories you have of Joe, and to be thankful for having known him, and been a part of his life in our community. He will truly be missed by all of his Cedar Ridge Family.
A report in The Honolulu Star Advertiser stated that Ramaikas became distressed while snorkeling Tuesday morning in West Maui. Although pulled ashore conscious, Ramaikas became unresponsive and could not be revived. An autopsy will follow. No services have been announced as yet.
