The community sustainability fair is free and open to the public and will include family-friendly activities and information on waste reduction, recycling, composting, clean energy, active transportation and community-based environmental initiatives.

At the event, The Maplewood Foundation reaffirmed its goal of giving $100K in grants in 2026.

“Maplewood will not be forgotten with Brendan Gill in Washington,” said Mayor Vic De Luca, Deputy Mayor Malia Herman, and TC members Dean Dafis, Nancy Adams and Jane Collins-Colding.

Each luminary in the park is weighed down by a can of food that will later be donated to a local food pantry.
