The Star-Ledger has published an obituary for the man whose body was found in the brook behind the Maplewood Memorial Library last week.
Lawrence Mancuso, 61, grew up in and lived in South Orange, according to the obituary. A self-employed building inspector, Mancuso was a parishioner at Our Lady of Sorrows Church (and a frequent volunteer at the church’s food bank and other causes), and a member of the South Orange Elks. He is survived by his mother, and a brother and sister.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, Dec. 17 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, N.J. 08888. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Treatment Advocacy Center, 200 North Glebe Road, Suite 801, Arlington, Va. 22203, an organization that advocates for the treatment of people with severe mental illness.
Condolences may be sent to the family here.
The Maplewood Police said Mancuso’s death was “not suspicious.” They have not released any further details on the cause of death.
