“A strong high school makes for a better community and a strong range of supported extracurricular programming makes for a better high school,” said Cougars Boosters President Hank Zona last year. “Academic success is critical for getting into the best colleges and universities, but what a high school student does outside the classroom can help differentiate them from other students with similar academic success.”
Since 1994, the Boosters have:
- Donated in excess of $240,000 to athletics and extra- curricular activities
- Provided grants to CHS athletic teams including baseball, softball, tennis, swimming, field hockey, fencing, football, lacrosse, soccer, track and wrestling
- Provided additional financial resources for CHS extra- curricular activities including Midnight Madness, All-School Musical, Quiz-Bowl, Marching Band, Parnassian Society, The Columbian, Velocity Magazine, Robotics Club, Shakespeare Festival, Jazz Band and Ultimate Frisbee
The fee for an individual golfer is $225 and includes golf, cart, brunch and dinner.
The community can support the organization in a number of ways, including by attending the event, or providing raffle items and swag to give to attendees as well as to students who participate and perform at the event, including the Robotics Club, the Unaccompanied Minors a capella group and the CHS Jazz Orchestra. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
