On Tuesday, November 3, I hope you’ll join me in voting for Madhu Pai, Wayne Eastman and Margaret (Peggy) Freedson for the South Orange-Maplewood Board of Education.
As a busy, professional mother of two, I believe the Pai-Eastman-Freedson ticket best represents the needs of hard-working families in our community.
That’s because Madhu, Wayne and Peggy are all hard-working, successful professionals in their own right. Madhu is a strong, independent woman who has climbed the corporate ladder in advertising. Wayne is a well-respected business professor. And Peggy is an experienced teacher trainer who helps prepare educators for the classroom. They know what it takes to succeed in our world today and will help our children to do so.
This team understands that working parents put a great deal of trust in our school system to do right by our kids, even though we can’t make it to every PTA meeting or every classroom volunteer event. They also understand that keeping taxes under control is important for families who wish to remain in the community. Madhu, Wayne and Peggy “get it” when they talk about holding school tax increases to 2 percent or below.
On a personal note, I’ve known Madhu for over 20 years. I see how hard she works as I commute with her to the City several days a week. She is a loyal friend and smart, capable woman, and I know she will work tirelessly for our schools. I’ve known Wayne for several years as well, and in that time, he’s impressed me with his long history of serving our community. And Peggy is so approachable and knowledgeable about education that I knew I wanted to support her from the first time we met.
The commitment these three make to our school system while working full-time jobs each day in addition to supporting their own families is commendable. If we can elect this team to win, we all win.
Please join me on November 3 in voting for Madhu Pai, Wayne Eastman and Margaret (Peggy) Freedson for South Orange-Maplewood Board of Education.
