From Open Door Nursery School:

Open Door Nursery School will host its Eighth Annual Sip & Shop fundraiser on October 22. Enjoy a glass of wine with friends while supporting the school and community. For a $10 donation at the door, enjoy complimentary wine and appetizers as you browse the season’s hottest products. The event will be held at the Woodland in Maplewood from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Local retailers and independent merchandisers will be selling stationery, home goods, accessories, jewelry, children’s gifts, and more. It’s a great time to start on holiday shopping, as you are sure to find something for everyone on your list.

Most vendors will accept cash, credit card, or personal check, and will donate 10 percent of their proceeds to Open Door. Among returning vendors are Jake’s Gems, with jewelry and other accessories, and J.Hilburn menswear. Bliss Activewear, Paper Ribbon & Wrap, and the Tempting Table are making their Sip & Shop debut.

Due to popular demand, the event again will include a variety of silent auction items, including 2016 PGA Championship tickets at Baltusrol Golf Club, a FlyWheel multiclass package, a professional interior design consultation, a three-month subscription to CKO Kickboxing, a photography session, a one-night stay in New York City, and more.

“The Sip & Shop evening is Open Door’s biggest public fundraiser of the year. Funds go toward updating facilities, providing staff development, and purchasing new play equipment, plus enrichment activities for students,” says Open Door Director Alethea Randazza. “It’s an important night for us, and we are always grateful for the overwhelming support of our neighbors and friends from the community and surrounding towns.”

Located at the Wyoming Presbyterian Church on Wyoming Avenue, Open Door Nursery School has been a fixture in the Millburn, Short Hills, Maplewood, and South Orange communities for more than 40 years. The school’s mission is to provide an atmosphere for young children, ages two-and-a-half to 5, that is responsive to the development of the whole child, and the staff is committed to the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional wellbeing of each student.
