For those of you who are thinking that school will start after Labor Day in the South Orange-Maplewood School District, we have some news for you.
Because Labor Day (Monday, September 7) is so late this year, school will start BEFORE Labor Day.
Children in grades K through 7 and 9 will start school on Thursday, September 3. Grades 8, 10, 11 and 12 start on Friday, September 4.
Students then have off on Labor Day, as well as Monday and Tuesday, September 14 and 15 for Rosh Hashanah and Wednesday, September 23 for Yom Kippur.
Parents take heart: There are NO days off in October. However, November once again is a patchwork of days off and half-days.
