The Columbia High School boys’ varsity soccer team might have finished their season with just three wins, but several outstanding players received well-deserved honors, according to an article on Essex News Daily.
All-Area honors were presented to senior midfielder Dalen Thompson, senior midfielder Brandon Kurek, senior center-back Adam Gray, senior fullback Tristan Rosengart, freshman goalkeeper Mateo Green, junior midfielder Bill Barron, senior midfielder Xavier Newman, senior center-back Cal Yohannon and senior fullback Jake Gruber.
In addition, Thompson made First Team and Kurek and Green made Honorable Mention on the All-Super Essex Conference-American Division, which is the highest division in the conference, the article said.
Maplewood’s Xander Saling, who plays for Seton Hall Prep soccer team, was named the All-Area co-Player of the Year, and made All-SEC-American Division First Team. SHP senior defenseman and South Orange resident Harrison Pryor, also earned All-Area honors.
