Maplewood TC Meets Tonight; Post Office Lease on Agenda

The Maplewood Township Committee will meet Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. at the Maplewood Police & Courts Building at 1618 Springfield Avenue.

On the agenda are several ordinances on final passage regarding traffic issues.

Also scheduled is an appearance by representatives from Daibes Enterprises LLC, the developer for a mixed-use residential and commercial building on Springfield Avenue across from the Police & Courts Building. The contractors on the project are scheduled to give the township committee an update on the project.

Discussion items include an ordinance prohibiting auto repairs on public streets and in private lots of automobile parts stores. This is regarding Advanced Auto Parts, which is set to move into the former World Tire on Springfield Avenue.

The township committee members will also discuss a benefit concert request for Brendan Tevlin. According to Township Administrator Joseph Manning, a friend of the Tevlin family is looking to organize an event and hold it at The Woodland.

Finally, there will be a discussion of revisions to design guidelines for Maplewood Village and Springfield Avenue.
